  • The Brief

    The multi-level living complex in Guadalajara, Mexico, originally built in 1932 by architect Pedro Castellanos Lambley. In 2021, the venue was set to be a multi-level cocktail bar and cafe featuring several rooms set to be infused with art by local creators, painters and artists along with incredible local cuisine and a soon to be young, ambitious team


    Colonia Americana buzzes with a mix of upscale and trendy restaurants, cool bars, and nightclubs hosting DJs and live bands. Templo Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento, a soaring neo-Gothic church with stained-glass windows and a clock tower, sits on a small square. Nearby, the Museo de las Artes Universidad de Guadalajara has murals by José Clemente Orozco, plus paintings and sculptures by other Mexican artists. 


    We were tasked with building a comprehensive approach in creating and amplifying the brand story, identity, launch strategy and a plan to drive sustainable growth while ultimately adapting our skillsets to cultural norms. 

  • The Result

    We spent time on the ground in Colonia Americana developing community relations as a part of building out a 360 degree strategy and plan to launch and ensure Belial was able to standalone, framing up positions for key local marketing hires and partnerships for follow through and frameworks to measure improvement.


    After a great run, local government forced the property to close in 2023.

Belial, "the wicked", was a term used by the church in early Christianity to describe independent thinkers that didn't believe in the structure of the church.

This was a tribute to celebrate our wickedness Viva Belial -
"Long Live the Wicked"

Belial was positioned as a premier location rooted in community and connection. Domestic tourism played a significant role in success as the we focused on amplifying storytelling content utilizing local artists, purveyors, and loved neighborhood locals to support our distribution and positioned Belial as a premier location rooted in community and connection.
